Most knit hats contain all the design and detail in the main body of the hat. Not so with Understorey. This snug, comfy beanie is all about the brim. Three different cable patterns alternate across: Simple twists, a set of three small cables and an elaborate four-stranded braid.

The body of the hat is simply knit in stockinette which is then folded inside out to show off the purl side (perfect for your favorite hand-dyed yarns). Top it off with a pom-pom or leave it plain.

Knit the brim in one color, then the main body of the hat in another. Have fun coming up with your own color combinations.

This pattern is written for one size, the average adult head.
