Easy to make shrug is knit side to side. It starts and ends with 2-by-2 ribbed cuffs and seed stitch. The majority is knit in stockinette stitch, with a seed stitch lapels, collar and bottom band in back. The unconstructed finished piece is a squared off “C” shape, with stitches bound off for one lapel, and then cast on again for the other.
