Knit a little differently, this beret starts off with a band full of “Xs and Os” cabling and is knit flat. After joining the end with your provisional cast on you will pick up stitches around the pretty chained edge and begin knitting in the round.

The beret size is easily adjusted by knitting fewer or more rows of the cabled hat band.

Needles:
US 6 straight needles (for the hat band)
US 8 circular needles (for the hat body to knit in the round)
