These gloves were designed for the Glasgow University Knits publication with patterns inspired by the architecture of the Glasgow University campus.

While our guide took us on a tour around the old university campus, which was incredibly inspirational, my eye was nevertheless constantly drawn to the more modern buldings on the other side of the road: To the Macmillan Reading Room, the Fraser Building and, most of all, the library designed by William Whitfield. It was the clear straight lines of these buildings that appealed to me. Especially the library with its vertical lines soaring into the sky up the towers – like fingers stretching towards the clouds – inspired me to this ribbed glove design.

This design will suit women as well as men, so it comes in seven sizes from Women’s XS to Men’s XL – catering also for glove wearers who find the common “one-size-fits-all” gloves to not fit them at all!

In more detail the sizes are Women’s XS (Women’s S, Women’s M, Women’s L/Men’s S, Men’s M, Men’s L, Men’s XL) to fit hands with a circumference above thumb of 17 (18, 19, 20.5, 21.5, 23, 24) cm / 6¾ (7, 7½, 8, 8½, 9, 9½)”.
The gloves are designed to have 2-3.5 cm / ¾-1½“ negative ease above thumb.
The main sample (blue) in pictures is in size Women’s S. The green sample is Men’s M.
