The Upside Down is a chunky cable hat worked from the bottom up in circular needles with a super-bulky yarn.
The texture is achieved with an easy but different cable pattern: knit and purl stitches.

Why “Upside down”? There is a lot of purl stitches and it is fun how the knit ones appear as in a second level, hiding and turning according to purl stitches wishes.

Size: Adult; one size fits most. Shown in a 22”/56 cm head circumference

Yarn: 100 g of a super-bulky yarn
Schachenmayr Nomotta Silenzio (suggested)
2 skeins x 50 g / 132 yards
You can also use a bulky yarn if you obtain gauge with it

Needles: US 10 (6 mm) and US 10,5 (6,5 mm) 16” (40) or 24” (60) circular needles and US 10,5 (6,5 mm) dpn needles (dpn are optional for the crown)

Other notions: Stitch marker, cable needle, tapestry needle

Faux fur pompom is optional.

Gauge: 18 stitches x 22 rounds: 4”/10 cm in cable pattern with larger needles

“Upside down” es un gorro grandote con trenzas, tejido desde abajo hacia arriba con agujas circulares y una lana super-bulky.
La textura se logra gracias a un tipo de trenza diferente, que combina
puntos al derecho y puntos al revés.

¿Por qué “Upside down”? Muchos puntos al revés generan justamente estar “del revés”, moviendo los puntos al derecho a su antojo, dejándolos en un segundo plano.

Material necesario:
• 100 g de lana bulky o super-bulky
(Schachenmayr Nomotta Silenzio sugerida 2 x 50 g / 120 mts)
También puedes usar una lana bulky, siempre y cuando obtengas las medidas de la muestra.
• Agujas circulares 6 mm (US 10) y 6,5 mm (US 10,5) con un cable de 40 o 60 cm y agujas de doble punta 6,5 mm (US 10,5). Estas últimas son opcionales para las disminuciones.
• un marcador, aguja auxiliar para trenzas, aguja lanera

El pompón es opcional.
