Uxía shawl is part of the Basic collection.
This small collection has been devised for those who have just started knitting and want to embark upon a shawl knitting adventure, without fear.
If you are a beginner knitter, I recommend that you knit the patterns in their order of appearance in this e-book, which starts with the simplest shawl I have designed -the Ola Shawl- and ends up with a half-moon shawl that features lacework and pattern repeats. Once you finish knitting through this collection, you will not only be the proud owner of 4 beautiful shawls, but you will also have greatly increased your knitting knowledge and skills. Most importantly, I hope that by the end of it, you would have lost the fear to knit patterns more complex than hats and scarves.
For knitting any of the shawls in this collection all you require is very basic knitting knowledge, and the finished piece can be spectacular with just a great choice of yarn.
If you, on the other hand, are a more experienced knitter, this is collection is also perfect to enjoy knitting it in your sofa, without much thinking… Just for the pleasure of knitting!

Uxía is a half-moon shawl, shaped with increases at the sides. In addition to practising knit, purl, increase and decrease stitches, Uxía will allow you to get familiar with repeating sequences of several rows.
More experienced knitters are encouraged to get creative and use several colours for a different look.
SKILLS:
To knit this shawl you should know how to knit, purl, yarn over, knit on the front and back of the same stitch, and knit stitches together.
MATERIALS:
As a reference, you will need at least 400 m of yarn suitable for 5 mm needles; 5.5 mm circular needles with at least 60 cm cable length (or the needle size you prefer for the yarn weight you choose)
The pattern is adaptable to any size and any yarn weight, as you can choose to make it as big as you want by adding repetitions of the main pattern
