This pattern is for a very classic v-neck pullover. It has a k1p1 ribbing for the waistband, sleeve cuff and around the v-neck. The rest of the body and sleeves are stockinette st. The pattern gives instructions for both sports weight and worsted weight yarns. The sports weight requires needle sizes 3 and 5 US with a gauge of 6 sts and 8 rows = 1 inch. For worsted weight needles sizes are 5 and 8 U.S. With a gauge of 5 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch. Both gauges are done in stockinette st on the larger needles.

Instructions are given for sizes 10-12-14-16-18. The number of skeins is given for 2 oz. skeins of sports weight or 4 oz skeins of worsted weight. So for the sports weight the number of skeins is between 6 and 8 for the size ranges. For worsted weight it’s 4 to 5 skeins.
