Vagabond is a fitted fingerless mitt with a double thumb gusset, great for transitional weather. The gusset on the top and bottom of the thumb provide extra shaping for a close fit. You will need 110 yards each of two contrasting colors of medium weight sock yarn.

The hand chart comes from Turkish socks, the thumb gusset is based on Scandinavian mittens (I’ve never seen a double gusset before but I hear they exist), the cuff chart is a Fair Isle peerie, and the braid Latvian, a true global mashup.

Vagabond is designed to have a close fit and will accommodate many sizes simply by adjusting the length of
the hand above the thumb. It’s quite stretchy in the merino and will fit most, but the width can also be adjusted by
going up or down a needle size, or removing and adding stitches to either side of hand chart and palm stripes.
