Happy Valentine’s Day. This is a knitted envelope to put a card, some sweets, or small treasure for your valentine. This is a very quick knit. It took me less than a day and I am the original slowest knitter. The central motif contains a horse (as I am a horse lover) but you could easily replace it with a name, initials or some other special picture. This envelope is knitted on US size 4 needles with handspun yarn that’s somewhere between dk and worsted weight giving a gauge of 13 stitches and 15 rows creating an envelope measuring 6 by 4 ½ inches. You could easily make a larger or smaller envelope by changing yarn and needles to get a different gauge. I was thinking that sport weight and size 2’s might create an envelope that might be just right for a gift card. Lots of possibilities
