When I was a child, I always thought vanilla extract was called “vanilla extra”. Maybe it’s because when my father put it in his French toast mixture, he always said it was a little something “extra”…
At any rate, this is a simple pattern that adds that that little something extra to your vanilla socks.
Using self-striping yarn and a simple slip stitch, this pattern changes up the look of the stripes with a more ragged look.
Contrasting cuff heels and toes are added to keep the stripes consistent throughout the sock.
It’s the perfect technique for when you want a mostly
mindless, but not completely mindless knit.
