This dramatic wrap uses a color gradient to striking, modern effect. Knit loosely on the bias in garter stitch with a crisp and simple slipped-stitch edging, Loft creates a plush, light fabric to drape you in effortless style. Work the small version for a long, narrow scarf or the large version for a generous wrap.
MATERIALS
Scarf (Wrap)
Fingering weight wool yarn in the following approximate amounts:
135 (470) yards each of Colors 1, 2, 3, & 4 (C1, C2, C3, & C4)
70 (235) yards Color 5 (C5)
Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 275 yards/50g):
1 (2) skeins each of C1, C2, C3, & C4, and 1 skein C5
Scarf photographed in colors Button Jar (C1), Artifact (C2), Fauna (C3), Hayloft (C4), & Sap (C5)
Wrap photographed in colors Cast Iron (C1), Soot (C2), Sweatshirt (C3), Snowbound (C4), & Fossil (C5)
GAUGE
24 stitches & 38 rows = 4” in garter stitch, after blocking
NEEDLES
One pair of straight needles or a 32” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 4 mm (US 6)
Knitter’s preferred style of needle may be used
