Inspired by the aquatic feel of my chosen yarn, this shawl is reminiscent of the Roman myth of the birth of Venus, goddess of love. Be surrounded in beautifully lacy cockleshells in this venusian shawl!

Clear instructions and informative links to explain the linked stitches used in this shawl are included in the pattern text.

Note: This pattern is presented primarily in written format, however there are sections that are presented ONLY in chart form for clarity.

This is Pattern Number Three in an ebook of 8 tunisian-lace shawls

ERRATA:

Page 4:
Column 1:
Work hook into 2nd ch of 9-ch set, YO and draw a loop onto the hook - 2 loops on hook.
Work hook into next chain along, YO and draw up an additional loop - 3 loops on hook.
Repeat process for the remaining chains until 9 loops have been gathered on hook.

Then, work hook into first base in main shawl fabric, YO and draw up one final loop - 10 loops on hook.

Note: That completes the downward pass of the first column.

The upward pass is completed by YO and draw through 2 loops repeatedly until one loop is left on hook.

Short Row (SR)
Slide hook through the topmost rung of Column 1, YO and draw a loop onto hook - 2 loops on hook.

Locate the next rung down and slide hook into it, YO and draw up an additional lop - 3 loops on hook.
Repeat for 3rd and 4th rungs - 5 loops on hook. (Do not continue down length of column to base.)

Then, YO draw through two loops repeatedly until one loop is left on hook.

Note: This completes the Short Row (SR).

As indicated by the red lined section of Chart A, repeat the instructions for Column 1 and SR nine times in total.

Then, pick up 9 loops down the side of the fan just completed. Pick up a tenth loop in same base as all the other columns in Chart A.

Note: Downward Pass of Connecting column is complete.
