Vermont Felted Bag 154

12 stitches = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch
US 15 - 10.0 mm
141 yards (129 m)

But for the handles, this bag is knitted in one piece. What begins as a large and somewhat floppy bag magically becomes a compact and very useful handbag with just some hot water and agitation. (Don't worry. The agitation happens after you've finished with the knitting!)

Measurements: Approximately 12” (30 cm) tall and 4” (10 cm) deep before felting; approximately 9” (23 cm) wide, 7” (18 cm) tall, and 3” (8 cm) deep after felting

Yarn: Valley Yarns Berkshire Hand Dyed, 85% wool/15% alpaca, 3.5 oz (100 g)/141 yds (129 m), Antique

Needles: US 15 (10 mm) straight needles or size you need to obtain correct gauge

Other Supplies: Tapestry needle, four 1” (2.5 cm) buttons

Two variations on this bag, Pattern #154 and Pattern #154b, can be ordered from WEBS (electronic copy or paper copy).
