The Vertigo mittens combine a simple geometric pattern with incredible warmth. The stranded pattern and the cozy knit lining provide a nice double layered fabric that can help you brave the cold. The stockinette lining is knit separately and then seamed to the outer mitten. The lining has the smooth knit side facing the hand for ultimate comfort. The most interesting part of these mittens might be the thumb, designed based on what actual anatomical thumbs look like. This construction allows for a perfect fit and easy movement. The Vertigo mittens are also great for using up leftovers. Each row of CC triangles used about 5-10 meters (5-11 yards) of yarn.

The pattern is available in one size: it has a wrist circumference of 6.5” (16,5 cm) and a hand circumference of 7” (18 cm). You can change the size of the mittens by using bigger or smaller needles or using a heavier or lighter yarn.

Gauge is 9 stitches per inch and 11 rows per inch in stockinette on smaller needles. Gauge is 9 stitches per inch and 9 rows per inch in stranded pattern on larger needles.
