This sock is a bit unusual in that the heel is shaped seamlessly within the pattern, so that the chevrons are intact all the way round. This is a quite straightforward sock to knit, and instructions are included for sizing, which will work for any adult sock size. In this op-art effect sock, chevrons work in one direction at the top of the sock (pointing upwards), then shift seamlessly over the middle of the sock, and end up pointing downwards over the foot of the sock. To get the chevron effect, stripes should be knit, or variegated yarn used.

This was the August 2009 sock for the Violet Green sock club.
