For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts:
One 100g ball of WYS Signature 4 Ply (75% wool, contains 35% British BlueFaced Leicester, and 25% Nylon, 400m/437yds per 100g).

Metres: 140m.

Needles: 3mm circular needle (40cm length), 3.25mm circular needle (40cm length) and set of four double pointed 3.25mm needles.

My design ideas and advice: A simple hat perfect for sock weight yarn. This hat is knitted in the round, so no seams to sew up! We start on 3.25mm (40cm length) circular needles and then move onto 3.25mm dpns (double pointed needles) for shaping the crown as here the stitches reduce and are too few to continue on a circular.

I used dpns at the top of the shape crown and have written this in the pattern, detailing how many stitches are on each dpn.

I designed this pattern because a knitter asked me to! She said she had knitted socks for all her family and friends, yet had sock yarn she wanted to knit with but for something other than socks.
