This is the first Victorian Mystery KAL Cloth!

The Victorian KAL Cloth 1 will be 50% off the regular low price of $1.95 for 1 full week after the full pattern is released, until midnight Pacific Time, January 21st/2015. (Every month, the new CAL and KAL Cloths will also be 50% off for a week.)

If you purchase the pattern Introduction before January 15/2015 the pattern will be automatically updated with the instructions on January 15th at about 10:00 AM Pacific Time.

My crocheted and knitted cloths based on Victorian era stitch patterns are so popular I thought it would be fun to add some Mystery to the new designs as they come out! There is only 1 “clue” to this mystery--but until you make it you will not know what it looks like, that is the Mystery! To keep it a mystery, there are no photos of my cloth! But please join the West Coast Fibre Arts Group on Ravelry, where there are “Spoiler Photos” threads for each Mystery Cloth, and where you can post your own photos and comments--there will soon be larger “KAL” projects too, like Outlander Inspired shawls/wraps, a Victorian shawl, and more! Please ask for help if something isn’t clear, or let me know if you find an error.

This cloth is about 11 inches square, and uses a 50g ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Solids worked with 5mm needles. If you use the Ombre colours there are fewer yards per ball--you can omit the first and the last row of the cloth and JUST BARELY have enough! If you want to make 4-inch Coasters (pattern included) you will need a second ball of yarn.

Once you learn the stitches, you can use them to make other items--scarves, cowls, and more! The next cloth will have other stitches to learn, and the stitches from January & February will be used for a larger Spring Mystery KAL which will have several Clues.

Each month the Victorian KAL Cloth will feature a new stitch pattern I find in Victorian era magazines and books.
