After searching for a pattern to make for a Christmas gift and being unable to find something I liked, I created my own version of the Viking hat. I wanted something a little understated and wearable, instead of like a costume. I added a big texture with doubled worsted weight yarn so it’s thick, squishy and stretchy and is comfortable and warm. This is a hat that feels good, will keep you warm and add a fun style for your winter wear. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Approx. 1 skein (360 yards or 329 m) each worsted weight yarn in dark grey and cream. I used Bernat Premium yarn in Dark Grey Heather and Aran. This pattern uses two strands of yarn together. You can choose to use two separate skeins of yarn, to roll one skein into two balls, or to pull from both ends of one skein.
Two handfuls of polyester stuffing.
Tapestry needle to weave in ends and sew on horns.
