I loved the long red lace scarf Amy Pond wears in season 5 of Dr. Who (“The Vampires of Venice” and “Vincent and the Doctor”). So I design something similar - long and lacy and flowing. I picked a lovely lace from Barbara Walker’s Treasury of Knitting Patterns, added borders and repeats. This scarf is as fun to knit as it is to wear! Originally published in 2011. I know a lot more now in 2016, so I’ve edited and updated the pattern. Still free. Happy knitting!

Size: Approximately 7” (18 cm) wide by 60” (152 cm) long or to your desired length
Suggested yarn: 460 yards fingering weight yarn
Sample is knit in Knit Picks Stroll and used 450 yards or most of two 50 g balls.
Gauge: 24 sts and 28 rows = 4” in pattern
(Note: The gauge in pattern is looser than indicated on any fingering ball band to achieve the desired drape and lace feel of the scarf.)
Needles: US 3 - 6 (3.25 - 4.00 mm) (pick the size necessary for you to obtain desired drape and loose gauge)
