English version of “Vingesus” (Rush of Wings)

This pattern came about because of a wish for a dancing top by my granddaughter. (The white top in the photo is size 6 years, she called it a “navel blouse” - crop top.). The name “Vingesus” refers to the sleeves which should not be too tight - she wanted air under her “wings”. The yellow one in the photo is a longer length summer top in size 0-3 months.

This pattern is knitted top down, you can stop at whatever length you like - a crop top or a longer length. There is a small opening in the back neck that is closed with a button. You can knit this in wool for winter and it can be worn with a blouse or t-shirt underneath. This is a basic pattern with different options depending on what kind of yarn you choose.

This pattern is knitted back and forth in rows for the first few inches and then is knit in the round.

Gauge: 5 sts and 6 rows/ inch in stockinette st. on 4 mm circular knitting needles, or size to obtain gauge.

Chest: 16” - 26” finished measurement
