This classic jacket looks like something Audrey Hepburn would wear. It adds a touch of elegance to any outfit, from jeans to a dressy slim skirt.

The body is knitted in one piece, bottom-up, and the sleeves are set-in. The design is a made up of a stockinette stitch body, wide garter stitch borders on the hem and sleeves, and a 1 x 2 rib on the upper chest. Four rows of garter stitch mark the boundary between ribbing and the stockinette stitch sections.

These simple stitches combine to give an interesting architectural look to the sweater, while being easy enough for a novice knitter.
