Vintage is a summer shawl design to protect you from the breeze of the beach or the air conditioned of the office. Casting on only one stitch, the garter body is worked from the bottom point to the wingspan edge, with yarn over loops at the beginning of each row. The border is picked up and knit along the yarn over loops on both edges of the triangle and knitted outward.
The lace is worked both right and wrong sides and the lace pattern is only charted, with short written instructions for the garter body and comments on the chart. The lace is a modified version of the “Lace Ribbon stitch” from Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. I recommend using a solid color yarn to show off your hard work in the lace.
