This pattern is from Charming Colorwork socks: 25 Delightful Knitting Patterns for Colorful, Comfy Footwear. Released 20th September in America, Canada (Europe and other continents a few weeks later) and available now as a digital ebook worldwide.

Mandarin oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C and are a delicious, juicy and healthy snack. A much-welcomed winter fruit, they are often given as a gift at Christmas and seen as a symbol of wealth and prosperity during Lunar New Year celebrations.
Here in Switzerland, Samichlaus (or Santa Claus) lives in the forest and brings the well-behaved children bags filled with mandarins, nuts and gingerbread on December 6. I thought it would be fun to
create some socks dedicated to this zesty, bright and possibly lucky fruit!

Construction Notes
Knit from the top down with a twisted ribbed cuff, this sock includes two different mandarin-inspired colorwork patterns, which
are worked throughout the leg and foot. These socks are knit with a short row heel.
