This poncho is knit in the round in three sections: a top border, a lace section, and a bottom border. I used an I-cord cast on and an I-cord cast off, but you can use any cast on and bind off that you like best. Leather cords are laced into the holes of the lace stitches on the sides. You can also use ribbon or knit an I-cord in a contrasting color yarn. Make it yours!

Materials:
24” US 6 circular needles
24” US 8 circular needles
32” US 8 circular needles
5 stitch markers
3 skeins Tosh DK (675 yards) DK weight merino wool (color shown is Antler)
6 yards leather cord (cut into two 3 yard lenghts)

Gauge: 17 stitches and 23 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round after blocking

Finished dimensions measured flat: Top edge = 11 inches, bottom edge = 32 inches. Depth = 22 inches.

Note on lace section: Round 1 is set up round.
On repeated rounds the number of knit stitches before and after the markers will increase with each round.
