Waabooz is Chippewa for Rabbit! He’s wearing a vest, typical of the floral beadwork worn by Chippewa men. And, Waabooz wouldn’t be complete without a carrot! Depending on the type of worsted weight yarn used to make him, he stands about 11 ½” to 12 ½” tall.

The materials needed to make Waabooz are:
12 or 15mm Safety eyes
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Scissors
Fiber-fil
2 ½” Pom-Pom maker

You can make his body in any color or type of yarn you like. His size will depend on yarn and hook size used to make him. His vest has a Wild Rose flower, surrounded by embroidered leaves and stems…so, a minimal knowledge of embroidery is needed. I used 15mm Safety eyes, but you could also use 12mm or sew some sleepy eyes on him for an infant.
