Worked seamlessly, from the top down, in stockinette stitch, this little hat can be knit up rather quickly! Once the crown is complete, the remainder of the toque is worked seamlessly and in intarsia; a fun technique to try. Front and back brims are worked in twisted rib for a snug fit and the earflaps or “wings” are made to cover the ears. I-cord ties with pom-poms finish off this super cute penguin toque, just in time for winter!
Worsted weight yarn, held double OR Bulky Weight yarn, held singly;
Note: Yardage given is for worsted weight, held double. For bulky weight, use a little more than half of worsted weight requirements.
