The waffle stitch creates a lovely dense fabric – perfect for a cosy beanie to be worn in chilly weather!

The brim of the hat is worked back and forth in rows. The main body of the hat is worked in the round, without turning. Unless otherwise stated, the 3 ch at the start of the round counts as a treble stitch; at the end of each round the last stitch is joined to the beginning 3 ch with a slip stitch.
