My sister Laura has a good friend named Laura who spent the weekend at our house once last summer. Because I thought that having two people named Laura around would get very confusing very quickly, I assigned them the nicknames Waffle and Flapjack.
I still sometimes call my sister Waffle.
When I found the Twisted Waffle stitch, I said to myself, “I know a Twisted Waffle,” and decided that I had to make something for Laura using this stitch.
This yarn is fairly bulky, so the hat is very thick and warm; great for spending hours ice skating or running a late-in-the-season cross country meet or just getting in the mood playing Wii hockey.

Errata: Someone mentioned to me that the decreases looked a little awkward. Upon further review, I agreed. I have posted a new PDF with revamped crown decreases. If you downloaded before 1/15/2011, you have the old version and may want to download again.
