Inspired by a river walkway near my home, the Wairau River beanie uses a cable to imitate the winding path of the river with a pretty background pattern adding interest and texture. This unisex hat includes feature crown decreases and a ribbed brim for a perfect fit.

Recommended yarns:
For a super soft hat that will keep you toasty warm: Outlaw Yarn Bohemia Worsted. Also a good choice if don’t mind a bit of a drape.
For a more structured hat in a hard wearing, every day yarn: Cascade 220 (not superwash).
Each of these yarns is 100g/200m - you will need 1/2 - 3/4 of a skein depending on size/gauge. I recommend having the full 100g on hand to avoid getting caught short.

Instructions provided in both written and charted form. (Laid out so you don’t need to print all the pages).

Test knit and tech edited.
