This is in a reprint of a Buch verlag fur die frau folio. Thread sizes and knitting needle sizes are old German sizes, so I’m not sure how they translate to modern sizes. No amount of thread was given in the description.

Folio is entirely in German, but patterns are charted.

I would suggest that you pick a thread or yarn size you like and experiment with different needle sizes until you get a stitch density that is pleasing to you. I knit this as a shawl in laceweight yarn on size 4 needles and it came out 58 inches in diameter, 172 rounds, and took approx 1600 yds of yarn.

173 rounds

The pattern can also be found, charted, on page 62 in the Japanese-language book Knitting Lace by Naoko Ichida. It is 176 rounds in this version; the last few rounds are slightly different.
