Wale and Course
1) A streak, ridge, or welt
2) the vertical rib in knit goods (opposed to course: the horizontal row of stitches)
This simple yet graceful hat shapes up with a series of short row wedges, accented by a trio of welts and complimentary stitching. It can be resized easily by working an additional wedge or by changing row gauge. It is worked flat and finished with a kitchener’d seam or a three-needle bind off.
