I love knitting that features unusual repeating motifs, and where better to look for inspiration than vintage wallpaper? If you’re new to color work, don’t fear–this cowl is a great introduction to stranded knitting and includes Latvian braids, which are easier than they look! A lining hides those pesky floats that have a tendency to snag and adds a hidden pop of color. Make it in brights for a modern feel, or go retro with muted tones. After all, this wallpaper doesn’t have to match your décor!

This stranded cowl is worked in the round with two colors of DK weight yarn. Stitches are picked up from the inside after completion and a fingering weight lining is added.
