If you love knitting cables and twisting stitches, you’ll enjoy this shawl made using worsted weight yarn, guaranteeing that you’ll be warm. The shawl incorporates a textured twist stitch with an ornate cable that shows itself beautifully in this shawl. The pockets insure that the shawl will stay put on your shoulders.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of cable knitting).

The border stitch and the cable focal stitch are both charted and written out line by line. There is a diagram contained within the pattern to assist you with pocket placement, and there are also instructions for an optional crocheted border.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Cathy Burke, who can be contacted at: cburke8013@aol.com . The yarn used in the sample is Shepherd Worsted by Lorna’s Laces, in colorway, Satsuma.
