’this useful pullover is made to a specified type for men in the Fleet - but it ideal for any of the Services. it is quickly knitted in smooth stocking-stitch so that it is not bulky. it can be copied as a sleeveless model with neat ribbed border; or it can have half sleeves. these are made three-quarter length, to suit Admiralty requirements, as long sleeves get wet at the wrist, and the damp travels up the arm. measurements are also given for full-length sleeves for the other services’

’if you are not knitting these articles for anyone personally, the Admiralty would be delighted to receive gifts at the following address: Depot for Knitted Goods for the Royal Navy, 11a West Halkin Street, London W1’
