The perfect soft, cushy barrier for when the wind is from the North! The weave- like stitch pattern of this cowl is not only intriguing and fun to knit, it is also functional - trapping air in its deep folds for better insulation from the cold. A perfect gift knit!

This is an easy to knit pattern for a knitter who has basic skills including working on a circular needle, slipping stitches and working ribbing. The texture pattern is given in both charted form and in written form. The pattern is two pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.

Size: One size fits most women - easily adjusted.

Finished Measurements:(after wash)
Circumference: 20 in/ 51 cm
Height: 8 in/ 20.5 cm
Both circumference and height are easy to adjust by adding or subtracting repeats. Additional repeats will require more yardage.

Gauge:
To determine which size needles to use, work a flat stockinette stitch gauge swatch. The desired gauge is 20 sts and 28 rows /4 in/ 10cm over stockinette stitch worked in rows.

What You Need:
✦ Malabrigo Worsted (Merino wool; 210 yds/ 192 m per 3.5 oz/100g skein); one skein. Cowl takes approximately 180 yds of the aran weight yarn. Sample shown in color 193, Jacinto.
✦ 16 in/ 40 cm circular needle in size required to obtain gauge. I used a US #7/ 4.5 mm. You may need a size or two above or below that.
✦ one stitch marker
✦ large eyed tapestry needle
