This pattern is written for 2 circular needles. It uses the Turkish cast on, a no wrap short row heel and a stretchy bind off, all fully explained. (The stitch pattern is 3 stitches for those who wish to use a different circular method).

Size Circumference
S - 7”
M - 8”
L - 9”
XL - 10”

One 100g ball will do a pair of socks in any of the sizes. This colour is 1682. Any sock yarn should be suitable. You may wish to measure your gauge in the round as this can change how tightly you knit.

This pattern was designed for a gentleman who was tired of getting ribbed socks that had no character. This is still a rib but an unusual one using a Yo passed over 2 stitches. I have known this stitch pattern for a while and thought it to be a form of French Rib but when I searched the internet for it to verify the name I could find it nowhere. If anyone happens to come across it I would love to know what it is called.

Just as a reminder, you should always try on the sock half way up the foot and after you have completed the heel to make sure it fits as you wish. Some people prefer socks a little tight and some a bit looser so I can only make a general specification. If your sock is a little loose or a bit tight try changing the size of the needle you are using.
