This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).

This pattern was updated with the “Folded Brim” version in February 2014 and with other minor corrections in December 2014. (Ver. 2.3)

“Waterfalls - Hat 2013” - This simple unisex hat is designed with a wide rib pattern that looks like waterfalls. It stretches well at the brim, and the body, in wide stockinette sections, shows any yarn variegation very well. The top is round and roomy enough, but not slouchy. It is a quick knit and a perfect Christmas gift.

On a chilly day, please just grab this “Waterfalls” before you head outside. When you take it off, just shove it in your purse or coat pocket.

Skill required: K, P, K2tog, P2tog, SSK

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.

Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU (www.hokariminoru.org) to meet Mino.
