Update On July 29, 2009 my baby boy turned a year old! He’s now doing really well, getting big and handsome, and we’re nearing the one-year mark of his surgery.

I FINALLY got around to adding a photo of my boy, the “nose shot” was taken on his birthday (party hat and all!). It’s now been over a year since his surgery and he’s doing great! I absolutely adore him. :)

These socks are dedicated to my baby horse, Jonah. Recently my baby had to have surgery after he became very, very sick. He’s still not out of the clear, and I wait anxiously all day hoping he doesn’t relapse. I was going to submit this pattern to Knitty, but after the tremendous vet bills that have accumulated due to his surgery I decided to release the pattern early. It’s a bit more expensive than my other socks, but please know the money is going towards his bills. Also note the dove in the photos. That is Ron, my roommate’s 22-year-old dove. He’s featured in the photos because my baby horse’s name Jonah means dove.

This is a top-down lace sock pattern, knit up on some yarn I dyed myself. If you’d like to know how I got that color feel free to PM me. Also, due to the emergency surrounding my baby’s illness, these haven’t been test-knit so let me know if you encounter any problems - I will gladly address them. Happy knitting.

ETA: The original file didn’t have the charts. Charts and pattern should now all be in one file. Let me know if you have problems. Thanks!
