I designed this snuggly blanket to make as a wedding present for my friend, whose surname was Watson. She loved it!

This is a 16-row pattern with alternating columns of cables, bordered by garter stitch. Once you’ve knit the pattern a couple of times, you won’t need to look at it any more. I’ve included written-out and chart instructions.

This pattern is easily adaptable to different sizes, yarns, and gauges. It would make a cute dolly blanket made of sock yarn with 3mm needles! So, no need to get hung up on the “right” gauge and yarn.

One nice thing about knitting cables in such a large yarn is that you can use a pencil as a cable needle if your needle gets lost in the couch!
