This colorwork pattern was created by my mother, and with her permission I have written it into a hat pattern and am offering it as a free pattern on Ravelry.

Pattern is an 8 stitch repeat, so you can cast on more or fewer stitches to change the size. The chart and decreases will work with any multiple of 8. The pattern also looks good in a gradient, or with just two color stripes.
