I love the new yarn cakes with their long color changes, its nice to get a stripe like effect without having to tie in dozens of tails!

I’ve used Caron Cotton Cakes for his cute circle scarf, it is nice to the touch and not too heavy. But you can use any worsted weight yarn for the pattern or use several yarns for stripes if you don’t mind sewing in ends.

The pattern is versatile, you can make a small neck warmer as shown or a big cowl to wrap several times around your neck.

The pattern is not difficult - its worked in the round. Good for an intermediate crocheter or an adventurous beginner.
