The set consists of a cross-body cardigan and a pair of leggings.

The cardigan
The side-buttoned cardigan is worked top-down and seamlessly.
There are 4 sizes to choose from:
Sizes: new-born / 3mo / 6mo / 9 – 12mo Finished chest, when buttoned: 39/42.5/46/51 cm = 15.25/16.75/18/20”. The sample is worked in size 3 months.
You will need approximately 180/200/250/300 m (200/220/275/330 yards) of fingering weight yarn to work the cardigan. Buttons: you need 6/7/9/10 buttons 10 mm/0.4” across.
Needle size 3 mm/US2.5.
Gauge 24 sts/36 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4” .

The leggings
The leggings are buttoned on the inside of the legs.
The legs are worked bottom-up and back and forth.
When the legs are joined you continue work in the round.
The folded hem at the waist is seamed towards the wrong side.
There are 3 sizes to choose from:
Sizes: new-born / 3 months / 6 – 9 months. Circumference of waist: 40/44/50 cm = 16/18.75/20” Circumference at widest point (below the waist): 44/47.5/54 cm = 17.25/18.75/21”
You will need approximately 100/150/200 m = 109/165/218 yards of fingering weight yarn (or yarn that knits up to gauge) to work the leggings.
Needle size 3 mm/US2.5.
Gauge 24 sts/36 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4” .

Errata
The button-hole band: after the buttonholes work 3 more rows in rib-pattern. Bind off from WS.
