Instructions for a pair of knitted spatterdashes with calf and instep shaping, plus detachable stirrups. Work in a solid color for the classic look, or opt for eye-catching two-toned spats. Farrow ribbing and some basic cables provide negative ease and a snug fit. Larger and smaller sizes with suggested modifications for a medium fit, to take it taller than mid-calf height, or wider for more generous leg shapes.

Skills required: Increases, decreases, basic cabling, buttonholes, cable cast on, 2x2 tubular cast on, 2x2 tubular bind off. Also a great way to practice cabling without a cable needle. Links to helpful tutorials at the end.

The pdf file is 4 pages long, and 650 kb in size. Pattern support is available, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have about the spats.
