Wellfleet may be worn buttoned across to close or each side folded over and buttoned and worn open.

The jacket is worked in one piece, beginning at the lower edge of the back, casting on additional stitches for the sleeves, and dividing at the neck to continue down the two fronts. The front bands and collar are knit as one.
