Inspired by the traditional folk dress of Eastern Europe, as well as the colours of the Maritimes in fall, these mittens feature vertical stripes in different patterns that mimic embroidered ribbons and agricultural imagery.

Materials:
Set of 5 DPNs, size 2.25 mm (small) or 2.5 mm (large)
~ 150-200 yds of Main Colour (fingering weight)
~ 150-200 yds of Contrast Colour A (fingering weight)
~ 30 yds of Contrast Colour B, if desired (fingering weight)
Tapestry needle; 2 scrap pieces of yarn for thumb.

Small:
11 sts and 11 rows = 1” across palm; Final measurements: 3 ½” across by 9 ½” long
Large:
9 sts and 9 rows = 1” across palm; Final measurements: 4” across by 11” long
