This sock pattern is a tribute sock to the late artist, Prince, whose musical genius was taken from us too soon. I choose the title and the use of clear beads because of the tears shed at his loss. The design features diamonds and the optional beading can easily replicate pearls, reminiscent of his song Diamonds and Pearls. Finally, what color better suits this tribute but purple?

There are three sizes for this cuff-down pattern, plus the lace design allows for a wide range of stretch for an easy fit. The beads are on the leg only, but can be left off if you aren’t a fan of bling on your socks.

So put on your Raspberry Beret, jump in your Little Red Corvette, and drive through the Purple Rain to your favorite knitting spot and knit like it’s 1999!
