This blanket is made in four sections:

1. First Border which is an asymmetrical edge like a wave spreading on the sand. It is formed with Single Crochet and slip stitch
2. Foundation of chain and Single Crochet
3. Breaking Waves of Barley Sugar stitch
4. Open Waves of Wave stitch and Spread Waves variation

The pattern as shown is made of two 100 g skeins of Ocean gradient sock yarn. 9 m of the yarn is wound off before making the foundation row. The first Border is made from this 9 meters of yarn to keep the colour sequence.
