This oversized sweater features diagonal cables on the front and back which meet at the right shoulder. This is accomplished by working decreases on one side of the cable panel and increases on the other. The cable panel on the back slants to the right by working ssk decreases on the right side of the panel and Inc1R increases on the left. The cable panel on the front slants to the left by working k2tog decreases on the left side of the panel and Inc1L increases on the right.

This pattern accompanies the Skill Building article on increases, and past articles in the series discussed decreases. I chose lifted increases for the cable panels as they produce pronounced lines which emphasize the diagonal slant. For the sleeves, I chose M1 increases as I did not want them to be as visible.

The sleeves have the same cable panel worked in the center, providing a tab for the saddle shoulder.

The sweater is slightly wider at the bottom. Decreases are worked to shape the waist.
