The perfect cowl for the Trekkie in your life! (or yourself)

EDIT TO ADD - My friend gauged the piece for me and she counted stitches in 10 cms/4 inches (she’s got it for more than a year now) isn’t she nice?

Length: 55 cm
Width: 19 cm

ABOUT THE PATTERN:
If I were to do it again, I’ll start it different.
Take a look at my wake up cowl.

I’ll start in the round with a prov CO, knit some rounds (5) in black with a smaller size needle, purl a round, change to the project needle, knit the same number of rounds in black (5) as before the purl round, undo the prov CO and knit together with the live stitches, then another black round AND THEN start the chart, no seed stitch involved.
I’ll do the same at the top, END the chart, knit (6) rounds in black purl a round, knit 5 rounds in black and bind off forming the hem.

EDIT TO ADD:
I’ve added a second version of the chart and some notes about it.
