For every action there is a reaction. Every step takes us towards another place in life. Every crossing is a portal to another place in the universe.
The socks are knitted as mirror images. The cable panel run on the outer side of the foot and new cables emerge from each side of the leg, like they would become your every steps. The cables tell their own story of different times in your life, whether happy or sad, it’s all there on your life’s path.

The pattern is Tech edited and test knitted

Yarn
200 – 210 m (220-230 yard) aran weight sock yarn. Sample uses 207 m (226 yards) of Novita 7 veljestä, aran weight 300 m / 150 g, 70% wool, 25% polyamide in color yellow for size 39 EU.

Needles
One set of 5 dpn’s or 80 cm (32 inch) long circular needle for magic loop in size 4 mm (US 6) or to obtain gauge.

Gauge
23 sts over 31 rows of st st, knitted in round, after blocking = 10 cm (4 inch)

Notions

  • 2 stitch markers
  • 1 cable needle, same size as the working needles
  • 1 tapestry needle for weaving in the loose ends

Notes

  • Knitted toe up using Figure 8 cast on method.
  • LLI and RLI; Due to the construction of these increases, in this pattern the mother stitch is included into the increase, i.e. LLI or RLI in the pattern is one st before it is worked and two sts after it is knitted and the increase is made.
  • W&t st: This pattern uses Shadow wrap short row for the heel. When encountering a w&t st on the next round, the two loops are treated as one st i.e. they are knitted (or purled on the WS) together. Links to tutorial for all the above mentioned techniques in the pattern.
